Re: Bader Field Shows
gamehendgehero asks:
Has there been any word on how Bader Field is going to play out? Is it just 3 normal shows, or will there be 3 sets on one (or more) of the days?
The short answer is no. We’re still two months out and the band hasn’t detailed how the shows in Atlantic City at Bader Field will work. Presumably, if the band wants, both Saturday and Sunday could be three set shows beginning in the early afternoon and concluding in the evening. On the other hand, while there is a special website devoted to the three nights indicating many similarities to a festival, it doesn’t appear this will operate quite like a festival.
With Phish we have come to expect the unexpected, so I think there’s still a prime opportunity for the band to utilize the unique venue - located in a city that has proven a great host for spirited celebration of the band and community - for some impressive musical memories.
Re: The Bonnaroo Show
Just to clear up a small misconception going around: It was announced this week that Phish will play two sets at Bonnaroo this year. That was later clarified to mean the band will play one two-set show, presumably on June 10, rather than two one-set shows as they did in 2009.
Everyone cool? Exxxxxxxcellent …
(EDIT: 4/12/12 7 pm) Point of clarification from fellow contributor trappedintime:
Actually it was a one set late night show and a 2 set show on Sunday in 2009
We strive for nothing if not accuracy.
Well, that and the second jame in Mike’s ANYTIME YOU’RE READY, BOYS.
When I was 16 years old I met Mike Gordon, the bassist of my favorite band, Phish, in an AOL chatroom. Months later I met him again, at the band’s first official festival in upstate New York, and we hung out all night driving around on his golf cart while I wore his fleece jacket.

I’ll be telling this story at the Hello Giggles show on Friday night at UCB LA, which I am also hosting. There will be other funny people sharing their embarrassing and wonderful run-ins with their idols, including Sarah Walker, Nicole Shabtai, Danielle Schneider, Louis Peitzman, Annie Stamell and Alex Blagg. Also, our special guest for the night is my friend and Parks and Recreation star Aubrey Plaza, and I will probably be asking her about her the time she sassed Joe Biden as a teenager.
*Especially you, Mike Gordon. Let’s make this weird!
No additional Phish dates will be announced for Summer or Fall of 2012.
From today’s Summer II announcement.
Plan accordingly.

We’ve posted this before, but fuck it. It’s April 3 and that is the day we post the face-melting Island Tour Tweeprise. About 19 hours later, the circus was in Providence, the lights went down and the band played … Tweezer.
They do good things, this band we like.
