So there’s a bunch of fake tour dates going around right now for this summer. However, on a completely separate note and with fairly high confidence we can say Phish will be returning to Vegas 8 years to the month of their last run in Sin City. For the sake of everything that is right in the world, please don’t shit the bed on this run, guys. Vegas still needs its redemption after one of the most bizarre and poorly played 3 night runs I’ve seen (and some of the most incredible setlists ever). We need the engine humming and bombs dropping all over the strip.

Phish - Ghost
10.31.98 - Thomas & Mack Center, Las Vegas, NV

One more from me tonight. Undoubtedly one of the weirdest moments of any show Phish has played, Set 3 of the band’s 1998 Halloween festivities was only three songs, Wolfman’s -> Piper > Ghost. Trey walked off stage during Ghost, and the rest of the band followed as his loop droned the end of the set. It’s one of the most disputed moments in their history and still a rather unknown event. Was it due to drugs? Was it a bad interaction with the fans? A major mindfuck to end a very bizarre, yet relatively short set of music? The mystery has always been an element of Phish’s Halloween celebration and shall remain so with this one.
