This is a phenomenal show, especially the seamless and raging segue between My Left Toe and Whipping Post (last time it has been played), as well as an all-time version of BOAF. Give it a whirl.
Is Phish a Great Band? →
The case for the jam icons, 30 years into their career.
“So now seems like as good a time as any to ask a simple yes-or-no question: Is Phish a great band? I understand this probably seems like a really dumb thing to ask. Lovers of Phish will say the answer is a self-evident “yes” — they may even find the inquiry patronizing and blatantly disrespectful to the band. Haters of Phish (because if you don’t love Phish you must hate Phish, as there is no middle ground) will say the answer is a self-evident “no” — they may even find the inquiry patronizing and blatantly disrespectful to themselves. And yet it’s a pertinent question all the same, because it’s tied directly to a larger issue about how we’ve come to define “greatness” in a musical context, and how this context has radically shifted. “
Interesting news emerging from The Phish this week, with the boys apparently working collaboratively on the next album — a concept that apparently involves all four writing music and lyrics together rather than bringing song frameworks to the studio.
New material this summer? Yes, please!

On a better subject: SUMMER TERR IS COMING
The good people over at Hidden Track published this piece today listing some hopes, dreams and aspirations for how the band could celebrate its 30th anniversary. Some (SPOCKS MF BRAIN) are long over due while some (Gamehendge) seem pie and the sky — though I doubt any fan would be upset to see all of them come to fruition.
What say you, good people of FYPhish? What would you like to see this summer?
If the fan interruption is considered embarrassing, then I don’t even know how to describe these wooks slinging gas inside the Kennedy Center last night.
IT WAS AN ORCHESTRA SHOW FER CRISSAKES.
Trey with the National Symphony Orchestra Tonight…
This is why we can’t have nice things, Phish fans.
